Spur of the Moment Ranch, LLC 2024 Fundraiser
Every year we choose a project to give back whether it be a fundraising project or a volunteer opportunity in the community. This year we have chosen to support Theda Care’s Patient Transportation Assistance Program. Sarah has chosen to share her cancer journey with you, and we are very excited to be able to give back to something that gave so much to Sarah & all of us!
- SARAH’S STORY: In 2021, I was diagnosed with breast cancer. My primary care physician was at Theda Care in Shawano. You probably don’t know this about me, but I am not much of a traveler and prefer to stay on the Ranch or at home! Initially, I was worried about the distance to travel for any treatments, surgeries, or appointments as Mountain is a good hour or more from any major medical center. There was a sense of relief when I learned I could do all of this at Theda Care in Shawano, exactly 1 hour from my house. My first two weeks of my cancer journey I spent every day at the medical center doing this test, or that appointment, or seeing a different doctor preparing for any treatments or surgeries. It was then I started googling how much cancer treatment really costs. Let’s just say, I was overwhelmed. Less than two weeks into my journey, my providers helped me not only start treating the cancer, but also asked the right questions so I didn’t have to worry about the financial side as much and my job was to beat it. One of the many blessings I received was the Kwik Trip gas cards for transportation to and from the medical center. The miles & trips were calculated, and I received enough gas cards to make it back & forth without worry. Today, I am cancer free, healthy, & happy to share my story!
- WHEN: Our change for cancer jar will be out in the camp store all season long! With your help we are looking forward to filling it hopefully more than once, but we bought a big jar!
- WHERE: Spur of the Moment Ranch Camp Store
- HOW: It is so easy! Bring your extra change and add it to the jar! Even loose change from the floor of your vehicle or bottom of your pockets is welcome! Every penny counts when fighting cancer! Don’t forget our Margarita Saturdays! We have a few games up our sleeve for a little fun on the deck! Look for some fun quick weekend raffles full of prizes! We are also welcoming donated gas cards as well!
