Cross Country Skiing

Eight miles north of the ranch on old HWY 32 is the Lakewood Cross Country Ski Course. It is one of Oconto Counties best kept secrets, with 22 kilometers of groomed trails through the Nicolet National Forest. Trails are marked and mapped as beginning, intermediate, and advanced. Make a getaway of your cross country ski adventure and stay at Spur of the Moment Ranch.

January 19, 2013 - There is a Community Winter Family Fund Day at the YMCA Camp U-Nah-Li-Ya on Chute Pond. Spend the day (11:00 AM – 4:00 PM) in the winter wonderland at Camp going cross country skiing, sledding, snowshoeing, ice skating and then warming up by the fire with s’mores and cup of hot cocoa. January 26,2013. There is a Candlelight Cross Country Ski and Bonfire in Stiles, Wisconsin. Enjoy an evening of skiing under the moonlight sponsored by the Machickanee Cross Country Ski Club from 6:30 to 9:30 PM. Enjoy family fun on a w km of candlelit trails. It originates at the main trailhead just west of the intersection of Konitzer Road and Timberline Road. Bring your hot dogs, marshmellows, and beverages.
